Chipperfield Kantine

salmon strudel & apple, feta, radish, brie and cranberry salad

Who: Chipperfield Kantine

What: German

When: Lunch. Monday - Friday: 8.30-19

Where: Joachimstrasse 11  => U-bahn: Rosenthaler Platz  (U8)

Why: Chipperfield Kantine is so different to most of the places I've been to around here.  The clientele is composed of young professionals and ladies who lunch which, along with the minimalistic and upscale decor creates a classy yet relaxed environment.  Due to it's location in the David Chipperfield Architects building, its no wonder this spot is so appealing to the eyes.  The menu changes everyday but is mostly composed of salads and typical German lunch foods.  The salad I tried was ok, a little pricey in relation to the taste but the portion was very large and the homemade bread, delicious.  On the dessert front, the slice of banoffee pie my lunch partner and I shared was to die for, and extremely photogenic to boot!

How: Between €4 and €12
